Le Chambre au Champ 50ml

After having to classify around 500 fragrances for our book, Sarah decided that the world of scent needed another category, the Chambre = chypre + amber. So many mid 20th Century classics overlap. There are oakmoss, patchouli, and balsams in fragrances we’d know as florals or ambers or chypres – from times when no perfumer would stoop to name a “notes list”; the fragrance was as it was, finished, with no need to deconstruct it and play spot the smell. Chambre is also French for bedroom, so Sarah included some humour for you too.

Le Chambre au Champ is the bedroom in the field, sleeping among the wildflowers. Its crossover Sun is oakmoss, bergamot, dark patchouli and vanillin with bicylcononalactone, a biodegradable molecule which smells like tonka bean ice cream. The wildflowers are a jasmine recreation from Synarome – so we can use more – with a narcissus recreation and chamomile essential oil. There’s a hint of cantaloupe melon for breakfast.
