Aqua Tofana is a special edition fragrance launched on 22nd September 2024 at the Cockpit Theatre, to accompany the Aqua Tofana opera.
It opens with a fresh, innocent Sicilian and Calabrian citrus fruit accord, then starts to intrigue then unnerve slightly with wormwood, black pepper, nutmeg and a generous dash of earthy orris.
The opera tells us the story of how Giulia Tofana, an apothecary, uses Aqua Tofana, a colourless, odourless poison, as a solution to the issue of women being denied autonomy over their lives.
