All of our fragrances have a story. Here is the story of London Linden:
With distance, appreciation comes more easily. I don’t mean distance from this captivating fragrance; get up close and give this gorgeous stuff a sniff. I’m talking about how it came to be. Sarah was looking back on a time that, though brimming with angst and uncertainty, later revealed moments of subtle beauty.
There’s a linden tree in Sarah’s local park that she first discovered while making the most of her daily walks during the 2020 lockdown. It was there she encountered the combination of linden blossom, lilac shrubs in different colours and aromas, mock orange, and elderflower blossom, and so, the seed for London Linden was planted.
When the grey skies of the situation cleared away, and Sarah got her hands on the right materials, she created a fresh and nostalgic perfume that celebrates the act of pausing to enjoy beauty in the midst of uncertainty.
Here are a few nice things wearers have said about London Linden:
“This is heavenly!” - Beth Duggan
“I don't have the right words to explain this one i dont think! It's the most fabulous experience wearing it. Made me feel nostalgic for some point in the past I've yet to pin down, whilst simultaneously lifting me up and away. Made me feel like a glamorous, mysterious and beautiful movie star. There. Found some. It's not enough though!” - Amanda Barber
“The top note is gorgeous, exactly like walking under a linden tree. So fresh and floral and beautiful. I also get a little touch of the earth beneath the tree as time goes on…” Anne Toler
“My only previous experience with linden has been in tea, so I was not prepared for my reaction to London Linden! The opening is so fresh and crisp, I will want to bathe in it once sultry summer weather arrives. It's nothing like London 1969, and yet I have the same feeling when I wear it--like I'm dressed all in linen, sipping a gin and tonic, perfectly composed while the world around me wilts in the heat. (Imaginary me is posh. And also likes gin, apparently.) Then London Linden dries down to the golden light of late afternoon, unhurried, daydreamy. It's the softest yellow, in my mind. I want to stretch out and take a nap in this feeling. It's luxurious.” - Laura Klein
“I am madly in love with this one. It was really cheering during this dreary January.” - Sarah Steube Perkins
In Nicola Thomis' Three Lovely Lindens piece, London Linden was described as the most demure and gentle. You can read it here - Three Lovely Lindens
