Children brought up on Cicely M Barker's illustrated books, know that every plant has its own fairy. They were written during a perfumery golden age, when natural flower extracts were enhanced with magical aromatic molecules of vanilla, violet and musk. 

In the early 20th Century, J.M. Barrie's Tinkerbell set the trend for friendly fairies. Before that, according the folklore, they were wickedly beguiling creatures with malevolent tendencies. Queen of the Fairies was always the rose, which takes flight here partnered by a powdery iris accord and sparkling citruses. 

Faerie Queen is the fifth collaboration between ÇaFleureBon and 4160Tuesdays, celebrating the queen in all of us, beguiling but benevolent.
