Five days of artisan Scenthusiasm(TM) at 4160Tuesdays' studio
10 - 14 August 2020
We've been running 4160Tuesdays for seven years now, and in that time we've been voted Independent House of of Year 2015 by EauMG and Indie House of the Year 2017 and perfume of the year 2018 by CaFleureBon. Dirty Honey won EauMG Indie Scent of the Year 2016, New York '55 was second in the Stylist Best Beauty Awards 2016, Maxed Out, Midnight in the Palace Garden and Mother Nature's Naughty Daughters have been shortlisted in the Fragrance Foundation Awards.
Why tell you this? Because despite being industry mavericks, we're doing something right, and we truly love to share everything we know with people who want to like to learn new things.
In 2018 we decided to open up the studio for a week in August for people who'd like to come over and make scents the way we do it, and to explore their own methods too; it's sold out twice now, so we're doing it again.
What you'll do:
Smell materials, naturals and synthetics, and learn how to blend them.
Discover a range of perfume styles and what goes into them.
Explore The Wall of Scent, our collection of vintage and modern fragrances, so you can smell to your heart's content without the usual pressure to buy.
Use our professional materials to create accords, and finished fragrances.
Learn how to create by weight, dilute your materials for your experiments and record your formulas accurately.
Take your blends home with you.
Dates: Monday 10th to Friday 14th August
Monday - an introduction to fragrance groups and blending accords
Tuesday - the secrets of synthetics
Wednesday - the new naturals
Thursday - turning ideas into fragrances
Friday - all day blendfest
We may have single days available, but we're giving priority to people who'd like to do all five, mostly so we avoid repeating ourselves, and each day can build on the one before.
