Belle Epoque era fragrances made for Living Literature 2017
We made only 4 litres of our Swann Eau de Toilette, a classic cologne which we've named St James's Cologne, after the London area where the very well connected Monsieur Swann would have ordered his clothes, shoes, hats and gentlemen's requisites.
Our Proust scents were made specially for the School of Advanced Studies London University Living Literature event 2017, an immersive experience designed to introduce 21st Century dwellers to Belle Epoque Paris and the fashionable coast.
Like our Gatsby fragrances for Living Literature 2016, the Prousts are made with materials all in use at the time - an era when perfumery was breaking boundaries and introducing synthetics to make beautiful new aromas (while not mentioning this to the customers).
Swann is our Eau de Cologne for the delightful gentleman who featured in volume 1 of Proust's novel, who made a socially disastrous marriage to a complete nightmare of a woman, despite his impeccable taste in everything else.
Citrus fruit, herbs, florals and contemporary synthetics take you zooming back to the Belle Epoque.
Swann is the largest bottle in the photos, 50ml printed in rose gold with a glass cap.
