A Belle Epoque era floral fragrance made for Living Literature 2017
There is a very small volume (2.5 litres) of our Oriane fragrance available, made specially for the School of Advanced Studies London University Living Literature event 2017, an immersive experience designed to introduce 21st Century dwellers to Belle Epoque Paris.
We are delighted to have been invited back to make two fragrances for everyone who visit the event to try on. Not everyone could make it to the Senate House on 11th May but there is some left over to share.
Like our Gatsby fragrances of 2016, the Prousts are made with materials all in use at the time - an era when perfumery was breaking boundaries and introducing synthetics to make beautiful new aromas (while not mentioning this to the customers). Plus ça change, plus c'est la meme chose.
Oriane is inspired by the Duchesse de Guermante and is loosely based on a late 19th Century formula for a cyclamen fragrance. At the time, private customers would visit many small perfumers to have their own blends created. We like to think that Oriane would have worn this classic Parisien style floral.
It is bottled in our new silver print 30mls, with a glass cap.
